Great podcast if you can listen to it. A doctor reflects on the challenges of acting as a part time caregiver for his aging parents who suffered from Parkinson’s (Mom) and Alzheimer’s (Dad). He notes that his training as a scientist encouraged him to always tell them the truth so he could help them even if it was painful for them to hear, but others preferred to avoid telling their parents the truth to avoid having to deal with it. He also explains why they chose to keep his parents at home to age in place where they could receive the best care vs in an assisted living facility / nursing home and was glad they did it.  Worth a listen…
